How much are pulleys? Which ones will I need for power? How hard are they to install? What tools are needed and can u do it yourself easily? I'll quit asking too many questions now.

What isthe harmonic balancer? Also, how much power does this add?

I believe he meant that you can use the harmonic balancer tool to pull the pulley onto the crankshaft. OR you can heat the pulley in the oven and it should slide right on.

We don't have a harmonic balancer. A harmonic balancer is a thing that absorbs vibration from the crank so as to not destroy the main bearings. For some reason we do not have one..I guess some cars do and some cars don't. But not to worry...if you get the pulley ..you WILL be happy. See ya

The car doesn't have a harmonic balancer but you can use the hb puller/installer to install the pulley; or you can heat it to 450 or something in the oven.

We do however have a harmonic damper on our stock pulley. And all it does is absorb some vibration the heavy stock pulley causes. The aluminum pulley is so light you really don't have these problems. A harmonic balancer actuuall is keyed to the crankshaft and weighted to rotate differently to save vibration and yes we don't have one.

I got the pulley and i have not put it on yet cause i dont know how. When you say put it in the oven what the hell are you talking about?? How long should I put it in the oven and Should I do some kind of Installation procedure to put on the main page with lots of pics?? If so let me know. Also, Is it true that you have to take off the passanger side mounting bracket for the engine?? If so How the heck would I do that?? Please let me know fast, I have tomorrow off and I would love to do this. How long does it take??

Put the oven on 500 degrees and then put the pulley in. When the oven gets to 500 the pulley is ready. Don't heat up the pulley until you are ready to put it on. I also used some scotch brite on the crankshaft to get rid of and burrs that may cause the new pulley to get stuck. As far as the passenger side motor mount goes..Remove the overflow tank..(just lift it up) and remove the bolt through the center of the mount. Then remove the other two bolts to get the mount off. One correction. There are three bolts that hold the mount to the block and support the engine with a jack(use a block of wood between the jack and the oil pan, don't want to dent it). then lower the engine smoothly with the jack. There are instructions with the pulley, which part of those doesn't make sense? I'm sure we can shed sopme light on them.

I was looking at my book on how to get the old pully off and it says that for the non turbo 2.0 liter we dont have to take off the motor mount. Is this true?? I work at a shop and we have a lift so tomorrow night i am going to stay late and try to put this thing on. The only problem is I dont know how to take off the alternater belt. I tried to do it today at my house but I couldnt do it. Ne one have any sugesstions?? Oh yeah I have all the stuff you said to get, I got it from auto zone for 40 bucks. Not too bad. They said if I liked it so much I could keep both of them lol. I just might do it too! hell for a harmonic balancer and a 2 ton pully puller you cant beat it!

I just installed my pulley today and it took me 4 hrs. cause of the cheap us gear puller i bought keep slipping. There is on adjuster screw at the back of the alternator that loosen and tighten the belt. I believe it's a 13mm. The improvement is unbelievable. The rpm go up faster now and accel. feels alot lighter.

I finally got my pulley on last wednesday night, it took me about 2 hours to get it off and about 30 min to get the new one on. I have a shop with a lift so it made it alot easier to do. I had some problems with my damn lowering kit on the front with the old pully commin off but the new pully went on good. Afterwards, just for shits and giggles i found out just how fast my clips went. It goes 165 with 7000 RPMs. I am going to take a picture of it after i put my timing belt on. He he it was cool. Peace
