17392, knock sensor alert for ignition

i know msd has a knock sensor alert so you know when to retard timing on your car with a ignition and i see it cost around $150? i plan to buy the hidi2 ignition and i wanted to find out if they have a knock sensor like how msd does for there ignition?.... i have not come across it yet? if so where from how much etc?

I don;t know of any company that makes one but MSD. And knock occurres because there is too much timing advance not retard. So when you see knock you need to retard timing.

Not sure if this is the knock sensor you are talking about, but it doesn't actually hook up to the MSD ignition system (or any ignition system for that matter) and tell the ignition system to retard timing when it sees knock. It is just a sensor (that screws into the block) and it has an in-car display that tells you when the sensor detects knock. Then you can adjust the timing via an in-car control (which is an option for the Crane system). Summary, this sensor is independent of any ignition system and can be used with any ignition system.

i totally forget it was independent... i know some people have this on there eclipse but forget who does? and also is it pretty accurate? and i know it plugs into the block or so but any pixs to show me? it would help a bit... i might get one in a while
