Here i am about to go to work.. and my car won't start. Lovely. sensor check comes up good, no CEL, no codes, AFC looks right, Plugs are covered in gas from me trying to crank it.. looks like i'm not sparking. And i can't find my multimeter. AND the batteries in my datalogger are dead. Shit. What a great way to start the day..

Sounds like me yesterday. Failed a test, cut myself w/ grinder, set self on fire from welding, and had dinner overflow all over the stove. When You get home have a beer; it helps! Do you have aftermarket ign? Check the coil plug if not. That "should" trip a hard code. If you got MSD or Accel, then good luck, I haven't got one for me yet so I can't help.

Does the starter make any noise as if it's attempting to turn over?

Make sure you check that all the ignition wires are hooked up to the battery + terminal.
Once a friend of mine's car wouldnt start because one of the white wires werent connected. The car would "try" to crank over but engine wouldnt turn over. Seemed like the battery was dead. But was just that one wire we forgot to hook up.

well your going to love this one. is your ecu plugged in????:-)
when installing my turbo i forgot to plug the ecu back in (it was laying close enough to look like it was plugged in). and it would turn over but not start. it sucked took us like an hour to figure out what the problem was (my friend said just joking "did you plug the ecu back in?" man did i feel like an idiot.) but you got fuel so i don't think thats the problem

Blah. No big deal...
Turns out it somehow got flooded. I pulled the plugs and they were naturally covered in gas. Looked into the combustion chambers and Wow, look at that - puddles. So i did a compression test just to make sure it wasn't something serious (185 across the board, cold) and managed to blow vapor everywhere. Put the plugs back in after cranking it dry with the plugs out, started right up. I was only three hours late to work (i usually get here around 9:30-10, for those interested)
So... it was nothing. Rather disturbing when you can get your car toturn over just fine, but it won't effin start - and there's no CEL, and everything you've taught yourself to look at says it's fine.

I hate it when that happens. I seem to have a problem with the DFI flooding the cylinders anythime it stalls. I've only been successful twice at getting it re-fired without pulling the plugs.

when you remove the plugs and crank it without the spark plugs you got to disconnect the two relays also? how many times do you got to crank dry before you put the plugs back in and start it?.. cool

I don't have to pull any relays. i just pull the fuse inline with the 10g wire from my battery that powers my fuel pumps.
I just cranked it for about 30 seconds or so... not counting the compression test.
