17092, Header Question Posted by matty, Mar-10-02 05:20 PM
What does the header really do for my car? Does it increase power or does it just give the car a deeper sound. Is it worth me getting one, help me make my decision.

Well what are your goals with this car? Headers add minimal if any HP gain and just basically help disipate exhaust gases better. If you just want bolt on performance an intake or nice catback exhaust is will give you more of a gain, however if you do not plan on going turbo I recommend you do the I/H/E combo all at once, hope this helps.

Unless you are going turbo I would say get a header. It's not always about peak hp gains I feel an overall improvement from my header, not neccessarily a gain at peak power.

I have CAI and a Greddy Exh now will I feel the difference with the header or should I just keep the stock one on? Is it worth getting the header?

Ya not worth it imo, save your money unless you don't have anything else to get, and want it to look nicer. It would be the last bolt on mod I would get. And if you are considering Greddy for 400 bucks, maybe consider a cheap NOS kit for 500 bucks and only spray a 40 shot or something to be safe.
