Seems AEM is a good air intake system I keep running into. Whats makes these things so special or different. AEM around $200. See others for $50. range. From the looks of it it seem like a simple open pipe. Am I missing something here. Thnks

they one of the only few intakes that comes wiht a complete kit to put it on, plus they are just real popular.

in terms of performance they are no better than something you can make yourself.
YOu are basically just paying a lot for the brand name.

I couldn't agree with you more. A pipe is a pipe is a pipe is a pipe, unless it has some sort of heat shield thingamajig (iceman). It's the size of the pipe that matters and the type of filter being used.
