I've been having idle problems for a while. I have some regrind cams and aem cam gears. could this be the problem? does anyone else using regrinds having this problem? I hane my intake cam set at 0 and my exhaust cam set at 2 deg retard.

What kind of idle problems, how much of a regrind, have you tried resetting the exhaust to zero?

Did you shim your lifters correctly?
Did you dyno tune or just set the gears?

AND OF COURSE THERE IS A WEIRD IDLE. . .
You have cams that are designed to make power in the top end and the idle and low rpm suffer because of that.

Any aftermarket cams that give you decent power will give you a real lumpy idle. It may stall sometimes too. That's normal with aftermarket cams. You can't expect a smooth idle with cams...

welcome to tuning.

To get the most out of those cams go to a dyno. Your running more air through the motor now its time to add fuel.

Tuning is the differance between puting something on because its there and kicking some ass.

Thanks for your help. I shimed .050 and my compression test was 175, 175, 175, 175. I have a milled head also .020 and a 5 angle valve job. I dont know where to dyno my car around here. I live near akron, ohio or cleveland. How much should it cost to get it tuned?

and what should I gap my plugs at? I got them at .050 now, but they look like there lean as hell. I'm also running a MSD DIS-2. and i'm getting the new coil when it comes out.

I just set my exhaust at 2 deg retard the other day. on here they say to go 3 deg retard intake and 5 deg retard exhaust with stock cams. Should I try this?
