whenever my car is at idle, the oil gauge pointer goes pretty low. when i accelerate the pointer goes back to normal. anyone know y this is happening?

Perhaps because your oil pump spins slower when your motor is at idle. It's perfectly normal..

Idle oil pressure is 25 psi, normal acceleration 50 - 60 psi, and WOT 75 psi. And Darkone got it right pressure will rise as your RPM's rise.
