16723, About Glasspacks... Posted by Blk95Talon, Mar-07-02 09:49 AM
I want to upgrade my exhaust and was looking at different setups. i dont want to spend too much money(keep in mind installation costs money too...) so what do you guys think are some good setups...should i go cat-back or just a muffler. i want a good low sound without being like a hornets nest. my dad has a 87 corvette thats seriously modded and hes got dual glasspacks on its exhaust and it sounds sweet!! has anyone put a glasspack on their eclipse or talon? how much do you think it would cost? how would it sound? how do they affect performance? any info on what i should get would be appreciated...i dont want to spend more than 400 after parts and labor. thanks

Glasspacks are cheap. 20-30 bucks for a "cherry bomb" brand glass-pack muffler/resonator. but it won't quite things down too much from straigt piping. I used to have a Breeze (420a SOHC engine) and i chopped off the stock muffler and put in a pipe and a glass-pack resonated tip in it's place (monza slash cut) and farther up the piping are the two stock resonators (just small glass packs) and it sounded great.
