my 95 rs makes a popping noise in the passenger side suspension area when I decellerate in gear or just push and hold the clutch would this be the infamous ball joint recall?

It doesn't have to be making a noise. it is a safety recall on all 95-99 DSMs. Take it in and have them replaced ASAP - if you don't that popping noise could end up being your wheel falling off at 70MPH.

Once that is done.. if it doesn't go away, ask again.. it may be a bad bushing somewhere, or something else.

hey called my local mitsu dealer (60 miles away) and they acted like they didnt know about a recall. but they said i could bring my car and they could check it out. This has to be a crock of $hit. can my local jeep/dodge dealer do the work or do I have to drive that far? Also any kind of complaint hotline number I could call? I appreciate anything.

Go to your dodge dealer. Ask about recall for an eagle talon and say well you have an eclipse but you want to get it done. I dont see why they wouldnt do it. Have them look on their computer for a recall. If not tell them to f---ing find it because it would suck to have a wheel fall offf at 70+mph.
