right now i have an AT tranny and their is a shop that will do the 5 speed tranny swap for $2,000 but i dont know if i will be happy with the car yet.does switching the tranny make the car more faster than an AT or should i save the 2g's and sell the car and just get something like a gst or something thats fast and already an 5 speed i want to go fast, and just put nitrous on my car (50 shot)and i wasn't happy. i got greddy cat back AEM cia ractive front and rear strut bars eibach spings adr sokudo 17 white winswest aggressor front bumper ngk plugs and wires aftermarket leather nice system and the car only has 21,000 miles its an 98 RS . also if i do the tranny swap is their anything to worry about like will the speedo still work, do you have to change the ECU the shop that will do the swap hasent done one on that car yet, all the info helpful thanks all.

if you swap to a manual you will deffinately be faster cause manuals are faster (depending on the driver) but 2g is alot of money for that amount y not go turbo??

i also thought of doing that but i hate the AT tranny

2000 aint bad for a swap.. it would be much more fun to drive and would see more power from your mods.

you would not need the 5spd ecu for the car to run, you would just be stuck with the lower rev limiter that the auto has.

if you get the 5spd ecu you will have a high rev limit.

if you are near houston there is a shop there ADR that has done 2 eclipse swaps and will do mine once i get some more cash.

they will charge about 1550.around that.. and they know what they are doing.. plus you get to hang with the houston gais..
