1618, RE: using an engine temp gauge for auto tranny Posted by Michael_97RS, May-07-01 05:03 AM A temp guage is a temp guage. As long as you mount it in a place where it can read the fluid temp you shoudl be fine. Temp range should be fine. What does your guage read to? | |

I figure its a good safety precaution. I made a "manifold" for it with a 1/8 NPT tee and hose fittings. Its mounted inline, before the coolant hits the radiator. | |

I was thinking of cutting a section out of this hose and making a T fitting....sounds like what you did. I found the perfect parts to use, but was wanting to make sure that's where to install it. 1623, RE: using an engine temp gauge for auto tranny Posted by Corbin, May-08-01 11:19 AM I put in all new hoses when I did it but the idea is the same. I did some grinding on the inside of the tee and probe with a dremel. I opened up the passages so that the flow wouldn't be impeded. The way I figured out which direction the flow goes, was to pull off one hose and place a rag in between the hose and transmission. Turn the engine over for a half a second. Look on the rag to see which end the fluid shot out of. Heres a pic of were I've got everything placed: | |
