alright i've cleaned my t/b, got new plugs and as of today new plug wires. the idle is still really choppy. now on the intake mani. there's is a hard plastic hose that runs to the valve cover. on my car the part on the valve cover is all cracked up and loose. would this mess my idle up. you guys always say check for vacuum leaks.

I don't think it might be it but its worth checking out. That big hose that runs from manifold to the valve cover.
There should be a 90 Degree bend made of plastic with a chrystler symbol on it.
Take that out and shake it. The pcv valve should make a click sound when it moves back and forth.

If it doesn't click then replace it. That means its letting oil get in the manifold.

Also you might want to check your fuel filter.

the hose you mentioned is the pcv hose. check the valve to see if it is functioning properly. there is a good writeup in chiltons about maintenance of it.

take off the hose (valve cover side) and see if the valve is sukkin air in. use your finger to see. also, u can take it off, and blow through it to see if it works, or use a pencil, and see if the spring is still good.

good luck.

since the hose is cracked, i would replace it

i messed mine up (the stock hose) when i replaced my pcv valve.

i used ductape, and limped to the store, and replaced with radiator hose, cost me less than 5 bux. but i knew i was gunna be receivein the larson hose kit rather soon.

now i have silicon hose at both ends of the pcv valve.

u can buy at rre or summit, or basically any speed shop. im not sure about the size, but just take it off when your at the shop, and replace in the parkin lot, 5 minutes tops.

if it is leakin, it may be causin your problems.
