16016, Where to find a rebuilt Manual Tranny? Posted by weaves, Feb-27-02 11:05 AM
I finally got the money together to get a new tranny, since the 3rd 4th and 5th gear syncros are gone in mine. If anyone knows of a good (read: cheap) place to get a new MT, please let me know.
Thanks,
Bryan 96 GS

Your local junkyard..
i hear car-parts.com has some used ones.
You're not going to find a "cheap" rebuild tranny. I have been quoted (several times) over $1000 to rebuild my old tranny, so if you were to find a rebuilt tranny those costs would be passed down to you i'm sure.
Buy used.

Call Gary at http://www.mitsubishigraveyard.com
He got me a GREAT deal on a tranny that only had the output shaft bearing busted. The rest was PERFECT.
Then take that to your local tranny shop (if you dont feel like rebuilding it yourself) and get it rebuilt. You also wont have any downtime on your car except for the swap.
