I have a 98 GS. Someone told me that my fuel pressure regulator was located back near the fuel tank. I know that it says it is located at the end of the fuel rail in the dsm manual. Is that for the 95 model? Where is the 98 model located?

95 year model - located on the fuel rail
96 and above - located in the back of the car, just in front of the passenger side wheel well.

is there a upgrade for the fuel pressure regulator or is it only for turbos? i know of b&M but i thought it was for turbos.

I will be installing a S-FMU. So I will be getting rid of the fuel pressure regualtor. What is the best way to do this? Run a new fuel line to the back, so I can put the S-FMU under the hood? Or is there room to put the S-FMU in the back?

Ideally, putting it inder the hood would be the best way. You'd have to run a return line all the way back, however.

Bypassing the stock regulator is easy for the 96+ : Just disconnect the fuel lines from it and bypass it entirely.

You would only want to bypass the stock FPR is you are using a FPR that can control static fuel pressure (like the S-FMU), right?
