Garbage, one person bought it. Armond EST, who's done everything to his car. he returned it shortly after getting it.

I rember he said it could be done but it looked hard? I dont think venom would wast there time in the developement of a product that is $hit? I might get one just to see what it looks like.

I had talked with Venom a while back. The manifold is strictly for the strip. The tech said "it could" be modified for the street by drilling the appropriate bungs and stuff. He also said they just stopped production of it due to some problems and are changing the design. All in all, crap unless you've got a strict drag car.
Oh, and whats my girl doin' in your sig, jk, someone had to say it...

Venom tecs dont know anything. The only reason they say its for strip is because it will fail echeck in CA. So many people are running the manifolds on street cars. tapping the sensors is no problem, but mounting the throttle cable is the biggest problem. I think they look sweet as hell too.

Dont wanna sound like an ass but if you know so much about it and can do everything and want it. why did you ask for opinions?

your typing doesnt make you an ass, that broad in leather pants does.

15551, RE: Venom Intake manifold Posted by Talon95Stang, Feb-23-02 12:09 PM
all i wanted to know was if anyone has successfully installed this manifold or had pics of it. I going to find out when the new ones are going to be done. maybe if I get it on then more people would want one.

umm... i don't want to turn this into a flame.. but that was ignorant based on the fact that thunder was trying to help a guy to NOT waste his money.
He probably knows more shit about cars then alot of us put together. Know your role n shit.

15554, RE: Venom Intake manifold Posted by Avenger EST, Feb-23-02 05:28 PM
Probably due to the fact that it won't fit in the dang car. everything they make is either highly overpriced, or complete garbage all together.
A.D.P. bring it on............

Venom is the $hit. I love all their products. The nitrous systems are sweet as hell and all the other bolt on's they make.

This coming from a guy that doesn't even HAVE any venom products according to his signature. . . Venom may make some nice LOOKING products but if the fuel rail they made for us was smaller than our stock one and the manifold doesn't fit in the damn engine bay, WHAT THE FUCK GOOD IS IT?

ok I know all that, but someone said they are redesiging the manifold. I'm getting the VCN-1000(I have a 1995) and when ther done with the manifold i'm getting that too, but I dont know what TB i'm going to use. If they made more products for us I would get them.(except the venom 400).
I just fell a ported intake manifold wont do that much.

15558, RE: Venom Intake manifold Posted by Super20G, Feb-24-02 08:41 AM
all i can say is have fun with it, i run more boost than in your wet dreams and i dont need it, if you want it for looks, have fun hiding all the shit you have to weld into it for street use. Its a waste of money, just powdercoat your factory intake manifold if you think its ugly and extrude hone if you think its slow..

This is why this board is so good, somebody somewhere has tried just about everything on the market. And as we all know, experience is the best teacher.....I trust the opinions of just about everyone on here due to the fact that they have been there and done that. Doubt if I'll ever have any insight on "garbage" parts since before I buy anything I always check on here to see if it's any good or not. As a collective, I would like to thank each and every person on the board, you guys are the best source of knowledge around...:)

man you got a response from the guy who put it on himself armond. if you still want it than go for it. but he just told everyone it sucks. don't ask for opinions if you don't wanna hear them
|
15561, RE: Venom Intake manifold Posted by Talon95Stang, Feb-24-02 01:37 PM
Ok i want your opinions. I think i'm just going to power coat my intake. How much would this cost? or could I polish it(outside)?
|
15562, RE: Venom Intake manifold Posted by eclipse804, Feb-24-02 02:02 PM
BTW, you're gonna run nitrous with a milled head? That's really not a good idea. Even our stock compression is pretty high for nitrous (a lot of other cars have 9.0:1 or lower compression stock)
|
15563, RE: Venom Intake manifold Posted by Talon95Stang, Feb-24-02 05:09 PM
I know but with the venom basic nitrous it should shut down if the air/fuel gets to lean. I run 92 gas.
|
15564, RE: Venom Intake manifold Posted by eclipse804, Feb-24-02 08:14 PM
But what about detonation? I don't know much about motors and nitrous, but I just know that with my high compression, it's not too wise to go turbo or nitrous.

So..what about the VCN-1000 ? I was planning on purchasing this Nitrous kit...but now I am feeling skepticle. (I really love the little panel it comes with though...)

On stock internals u dont want to go over a 60 shot. Dino and I discussed this just the other night actually. Listen to Brad and Armond. They know what they are talking about. Sean wasnt being mean either, I myself have heard several bad opinions on the venom intake. Didnt ray (someone jump in here) try to use that in his setup for the RS? Do what brad said and just powder coat ur stock intake, (prolly $50-100) and port and polish it out while you have it outta the system. ARD does it for $80. There's gotta be someone local around you, or if you have the means do it yourself in your garage.
