15495, chalk up another blown head gasket

Well i was adjusting my alternator belt today when i noticed a lot of oil around the block, so right away i figured the head gasket was leaking. I brought it to my family's mechanic to see if they thought it was too, and they said it definately was and that the crankshaft and camshaft sensors were also leaking. i have a couple more months left on my warranty, so i called up satan and made an appointment, but as always they had every reason in the book why i wouldn't be the head gasket(in which case it wouldn't be covered). I was wondering if there is anyway that i could back myself up if they try and get out having to do it under warranty? they were telling me all these fees that i would have to pay just for them to check it out and see what it was. also, if they do end up replacing it, is there anything else i should have done? there's only 42,000 miles on the car, so does it pay to get the 60,000 mile service now? also, are they just gonna replace it w/ the same type of oem gasket, or will they use a better one? thanks

The gasket that came on all the 95-99 cars from the factory has been superceded by a revised, multi-layer stell edition. Much better than what they built the car with.

If it's only got 42,xxx miles on it.. I'd wait on the 60,000 maintenance.. you could have another year and a half to go.

just take it in to satan, they SHOULD NOT charge you if your under warranty, if they try shit take it to another dealer, i drive 40 miles out of the way cause the dealership by me sucks and tries the same bull that your talking about.

When I got the ball joint recall I took it in and they said they didnt have the tools to do the recall cause I was lowered, and they are a five star dealership, come on not having tools is crap

thanks guys. btw i'm already driving 50 miles away to this dalership b/c the one by me sucks even more than this one, so i hope they do it. i would think they'd be pretty cool b/c they are also have a dsm club(sunrise racing) and do a lot of modding at the dealership on their own. if anyone lives near NYC and knows of a good dealership around here that won't try and screw you for everything you're worth, lemme know.

one more quick question. i'm hoping to go turbo this summer, but only run a stage 2 at 5-7psi. i've been hearing people talking about putting in a thicker head gasket to lower compression and make it easier on the stock internals under boost. would it be a good idea to put in a thicker gasket, and if so, would satan do that if i gave it to them to put in? the only thing is, would i loose any hp while being n/a?

You can get one, but Satan probably won't put it on, and yes you'll lose HP while NA.

If you didn't have a blown head gasket and you wanted to replace it, what's the average cost fot that? And yes I'm still under warranty for another 3 year extension.
