15430, oh oh. When accelerating I can feel power drop momentarily
Posted by ez, Feb-21-02 04:24 AM
It's strange, never happened before but it's definately noticable. It's like driving with your a/c on - ya know how the belt engages or whatever and you feel the car jolt a little bit? It's just like that (but I haven't had the a/c on). It started this monday, and I've felt it every day since then.

It feels very minor, but this is the kind of thing I think will only get worse. I'm still under the 3 year bumper-to-bumper warranty so I'll take it into satan tomorrow. Do you know what this could be and what I should know before taking it in?

My only idea is that it's perhaps a fuel cut or something. Maybe the injectors or clogged, or fuel pump is messed up, or something with the computer? I only have 24k miles on it so I don't think any of this is too likely though.

thanks!

Possibly clogged fuel filter, they ar suppose to be changed every 30k... clogged air filter? just a couple ideas, see what satan says and if it sound reasonable... It's the end of the work day and Im not thinking too well now... (or typing I fixed this post three times, at least.)

im 95% sure its your spark plug wires. this has happened to me on both of the 420a's i owned. it just starts one day and gets worse and worse. if its hesitating in low rpms, but once you get past 3000 or so, id say thats what it is. hope this helps.. thanks

i second rfpunch. get new wires and see what happens should go away. whats happining is that your not getting a spark in one cylinder and its hesitating. go get some new ones. might as well get new plugs too.

never got a check engine light when mine was hesitating. if he has the same problem as me, which sounds like he does, its his wires .

Thanks for all your replies guys. It looks like most of you think it's the wires or fuel filter.

Since I don't know how to differentiate the two, and classes get out at noon (yes!), I'm gonna take it over to satan today. If there's anything wrong it'll be covered by warranty. Plus they wash the car afterwards and mine is REALLY dirty.

I'll let you know if was the wires or filter later!

P.S. No, I already changed the plugs at 15k, and don't have a CEL. Nor is it the air filter (changed to K&N at 12K)
