15318, For those w/ magnaflow muffler-install question
Posted by XtremeRS, Feb-20-02 09:52 AM
Well i'm gettin my muffler friday and hopefuly will have it installed on sat. My question has to do with the muffler hangers, and how exactly did they put on your guy's mufflers. I want to be right there when they do and not to try to overcharge me or say i need this or that. Do they have to weld on a hanger onto the new muffler, since is see 2 of em on my stocker, or do they need a hanger at all? I'm just a bit paranoid, and want the best looking install i can get, and if I'm armed with a little information, it would be very helpful. If anyone has any info, or better yet, pics, that would be great. TIA

on mine theres two little tube looking metal bracket hook thingys someone welded on, then the two hooks just hook into the stock rubber bushings hanging on the body of the car. hope that helps.

well i dont have a magnaflow, but its a universal muffler so its all the same. With mine they welded it onto the pacesetter at an angle and then just welded one hanger at the base of the tip. The hanger hangs in the stock location. I paid 60 bucks to get mine done, but that was cool since I had just come from meinike (sp?) across the street who told me to take the muffler back where I got it from and said it was impossible.
