15288, Which wires to use with Autometer Tach
Posted by Semperboost, Feb-20-02 06:39 AM
My bro gave me an autometer tach cuz he wanted one with a shiftlite. ANyways the wires are stripped all the way almost to the ends. My question is what wires are used in hooking one of these up??...Also How do you remove the bezel part so it can be painted? I am going to probably repaint it(he painted it white) silver, rehook the wires and sell the thing cuz I don't have room on my dash for it. thanks

I know you'll need the tach signal and a power and ground for the light, beyond that I couldn't tell you.

Autometer products are not meant to be taken apart. Doing so will probably throw off the calibration. They are sealed units.

Hey Alvin,
i believe the red is for +batt, the black is ground and the green is the tach signal. there should be an orange and a brown wire also, those are thin, those you either connect together or cut depending on how many cylinders you have. the + lighting is a white wire
hope it helps
