what are the symptoms, are you sure its the cat??? do you use crappy gas, are you running really rich, if the cat keeps going bad, either you just got a defective cat once or something else it wrong, the cat should last a long time, again what are the symptoms??

Get it checked out, it could be faulty. You shouldn't be having any problems. Like he said above don't be putinng crappy gas in there.

The main things that cause catlytic converters to die are fouling due to rich conditiond and time. They all fail in time, as the converter only has so much catalyst. Rich conditions can foul the catalytic converter, clogging it with so much carbon that it will no longer function. If the cat is fairly new, suspect that a rich condition exists that is causing it to fail. These can be caused by worn out plugs, bad oxygen sensors, leaky injectors, and faulty fuel pressure regulators. Give your car a good tuneup, check both your oxygen sensors and your fuel pressure if you can.
Good luck!

ONLY 3 DAYS OLD--- take that thing back to where ever you got it and get your money back if its 3 days old as you say its obviously faulty and not from your car.

nah the converter wasnt junk is was brand new and plsu the guy at the exhaust shop told me that when i get it put on that i should do have it hooked up to a computer and see what the deal is...the gas i run is fine, jsut basic unleaded gas, i dont have a turbo system....trust me its not the gas...maybe the injectors are leaking cuz i dont get as good as gas mileage as i did on my avenger and it had the same engine as my eclipse has in it (2.0L)...so any other ideas, im desperate, i will tear the whole car apart if i have to to find out what the deal is, how can i test it to find out what it is..?

there was a recall on the fuel pressure regulators on 95's. i had mine done. goto a dealership and ask for the fuel pressure regulator recall and to have an asiprator kit put on. if you have any questions about the second one email me. craigd887@aol.com
other than that goto a parts place and et new plugs. try to get ngk bkr5e-11's they're much better. and finally the upstream oxygen sensor. it's about 80 dollars. that's the plan of attack ranging in price from free to 80 bucks
