Hi all,

I own a 95 GS, but my question is for my sis's 96 breeze. I've done the key on-off thingy and got codes for a bad o2 sensor. I am pretty handy with basic repairs on cars and was wondering if this is one I should tackle? I paid around 400 for a bad o2 sensor on my car and like 300 was for labor. I would like to save her the trouble. Get back at me with anything I should know. Thanks!

Should be able to do it yourself with some strongs tools and some liquid wrench or WD40.

Will need an oxygen sensor socket as well. You can get them at your local autoparts store. Basically, it's a socket with a slot in it for the sensor wires.

700 for o2 sensor?????? what... damn 45 for mine from nopi. and put it in myself...


u can just use a open end wrench..i think its 21 22 or 23mm... just need some muscle u wimps..

Thats right, i paid 35 for mine at nopi and installed in like 7 mins.
I used an open end wrench also, you don't need to buy extra tools if you have a wrench set.

So you paid 400 bucks??? Man did you get riped off.
If you get the one from nopi for the eclipse or avenger the wiring harness is exact snap together

I completely overlooked the use of an open end wrench...stupid...

Autometer also makes an o2 sensor. It's $80, though... more that the NGK.

Thanks for all the info guys! I didn't have to pay 400, I just bought the car, the CE light came on, so I took it back to the dealer, and the job cost THEM 400. I know dealer prices and regular prices are a world apart. Now though, my sister is thinking of getting a new car, so I might not do the job, but again thanks!

he didnt mean 700 for the replaced 02 sensor, he meant 300 for labor and 100 for the sensor... but yeah, do it yourself with an open end wrench, some lubricant, and some strength, cause old ones tend to be a pain to get loose.

What is the Nopi part # for the 02 Sensor we need? i wanna be sure i get the right one.
