14886, MSD DIS-2 any problems? want to BUY Posted by Talon95Stang, Feb-15-02 08:15 PM
Ok, I rember someone posting something about the DIS-2 doesn't work right in our cars. Is this true? I also herd that that guy with the neon switched to the crane. I want to go with the MSD. With the crane you cant even retard timing. You have to buy some adapter that cost over $100. and I think you need 2 adapters. The only reason I want an ignition is because I going to run nitrous so I need to retard timing. I just want to make sure it will work ok.
and does anyone want to sell a DIS-2 to me. If so let me know. You can email me at talon95stang@cs.com

The MSD DIS-2 does work on our cars. You need 1 tach adapter and thats it.

do I NEED one if I want to run NOS? like 50-60 Shot. I'm going to get the MSD Coil when it comes out. and If I if I need an ignition system how much should I retard timing? and how wuch HP do you get.

I would recommend that you get one just for safety. The ignition system is going to GIVE you HP. It will allow you to retard the timing so running nitrous is safer. You should be able to run a 50 shot with no problem and with the timing retarded a 75 - 80 shot on the stock bottom end.

I have the Crane, I like it. You need two tach adapters for the Crane. And you can hook up a timing retard to it. Buit plenty of people are using the MSD with no problems I can remember.
