How much of an effect would the .020 overbore have on the engine, and what effect does the higher compression have on low/high power?

Boring out .020" on the cylanders is more to ensure that the cylander walls are perfectly round so you get a good seal with the new rings. There is a very slight increase in displacement, probably only a cubic inch or two (a Chevy 350 bored .030" gaines 5cid, we are not going to gain much displacement).

The higher compression is good for a gain of about 3-4% per Compression point raise, so it's a mod that takes advantage of all other mods you have. 10.5:1 should be no problem just doing the rebuild. I would suggest some form of timing control at a 12.5:1 rebuild. Give yourself the ability to retard timing in case of detonation. An S-AFC or some other form of fel control would be a good idea as well. Give yourself the ability to tune in the high compression motor, and make sure she's running right.

Couple of questions for you guys....i had thought about going turbo (which i might still do in the next year or so), but i thought that this rebuild kit might be a good thing to do before i went turbo. Right now the only power mods i have are (listed below). What else would i need to do along with getting the kit? How much does it cost to have the kit installed (aprox.) and also about how much power would i be looking at? And im talking about the kit that is $1099.
