I have. It sucks. You will have to spend money on reconditioning the cylinder head. You will have to re-surface the cylinder head. The cams didnt give me much power (even so that i reverted back to stock cams!).

For 1600 bux or how much they charge you now, i say dont go for it =/

Hell, i'll sell you the gude cylinder head (after i fixed a bunch of crap) and cams (i kept the throttle body...sorry) for much cheaper...

I did like the port and polish job they did though.

Drop me an email at kiku@asog.net if you are interested.

I have only heard bad things about them too, I would never go to them.

Gude is more into ford engines specifically the 4 cylinder zetec (that I run) and quite a few zx2 owners use GUDE components.. including their head package (which is awsome on a zx2) but might not be so good on an eclipse cause they don't have much experience with the motor.. they have been doing the zetec ford motor for 10 years. And make quite a few great parts for the ford I4 motors..

Kiku,
how bad is the head? So they milled it and ported it? Why do you have to recondition it? Did they take too much off?
Did they put oversized valves in or would that be a thing to do before reconditioning it?

I posted some more detail in the for sale forum.

But the answers to your question, it is a stock head (stock valves, guides, springs, retainers) except that the head is decked for 2 point increase in compression from stock compression ratio.

I had to resurface the head more becasue gude did a SHITTY job of doing it.

The tip i would give you is that 1) the head needs to be reconditioned (cleaned). 2) I would get the valve guides checked and the valve seats checked.

Other than that, the head is fine.
