14686, FUEL PUMP Posted by Osirisinix, Feb-12-02 04:10 PM
Hey everyone, im new to the group... I have a 95 eagle talon esi.. i was wondering if anyone has any problems with the car surging at high mileage.. i have about 100,000 miles on the car. It has been surging very badly on wind up.. 2k, to 4k rpms.. im thinking that is the fuel pump..
If this is what it could be.. could someone give me a hint of where it is.. im gonna do this myself =)
thanks guys

The fuel pump is in the gas tank. Most likely it isn't the problem check your sensor AIC, TPS, MAP, spark plug and wires.

and if you have alot of miles and it hasn't been replaced.. it could be your fuel filter.

I would get a shop manual if you want to start tackling problems like this. It has all the steps for testing sensors, etc. I have found mine to be worth its weight in gold.

I'd start with the plugs. They're dirt cheap and you could always use a new set :)
