Hey eclipse286, I checked out what all the letters stand for on the ngk website www.ngksparkplugs.com under Tech Info.
Letters explained: Go here, and click the last question on the page for the letter designation of the NGK plugs: http://www.ngksparkplugs.com/techinfo/spark_plugs/faq/index.asp
Click on this question to download the pdf file. Q: What do the numbers and letters in a part number represent?
But basicially, Y - is for the V-Grooved center electrode A - is for special design, whatever that means. Hope this helps.
