I took my car in to the dealership and told him our problem. He said if it were a clutch problem the noise would be there when we pushed the clutch in, not when the clutch was out. He said he thought it sounded like the input shaft bearing, whatever the hell that is. looks like I'll have to take it in to have them drop the tranny to find out for sure. He said it was the first bearing in the tranny though, so maybe it wouldnt be to bad to change yourself if your not under warranty. I think since I have 29,000 left Im just going to ride it out until it gets really bad or 60,000 whatever comes first.

Not as easy as you guys think. First you have ot have a jig. Not hard but not easy to make. An input shaft bearing is your prob. You'll have to live with it. It will be fine for awhile(I'm breaking 67,000 soon) it goes away when warm. Prob by the time you need synchros(actaully just blocking rings) you'll need some fancy shmancy tools and a big press to get to some of these. If you got another tranny, then build it, and install that one. If it's just the shaft bearing, than I'd let it go.
