14405, Which High-flow Cat?
Posted by DownAzzDSM, Feb-09-02 03:08 PM
I want to buy a high-flow cat next, and was just wondering which is the best by opinion. Anyone have one that can give me some pointers? And is it a direct bolt-on? Thanks

Ractive and Pacesetter are direct boltons.

if you live in a state where there are no emission laws just gut the cat or put on a straight pipe. I have talked to many OBDII guys with gutted and removed cats and not one has a check engine light. Maybe the whole CEL thing is just a rumor that was started to stop people from taking off their cats?

Yea the CEL thing is just temporary. I have a gutted cat now... looking to get a resonated test pipe, but every time I reset my ecu, the CEL is off for awhile and then suddenly comes on one day. The car does not drive any worse. If you put up with the CEL for a week or two, the CEL will go off and stay off. I can drive from Melbourne, FL to Naples, FL (about 260 miles) and my ecu does not even figure out that there is no cat. Perhaps it knows there is no cat and just does not care.

14411, Massive Motorsports- SUSPECT company

I see it's being done by massive motorsports. I have no idea if they finally got heir act ogether, but aabout a month ago, I won an auction from the same company. They couldn't ever come up with the product as I waited almost a month after payment for them to ship it. Finally, they told me that FEDEX had lost the product in transit. However, I think that scenario was quite unlikely since they couldn't come up with any tracking number after I requested one.

Thankfully, they did refund me my money after I requested such.

It was still disappointing in the end that they couldn't be more forthright about the situation and either be honest or send me my product.
