14391, This a good price for cam gears???

350.00 for unorthodox cam gears (pair) so faf this is the best price I can find. Does anyone know of a cheaper place???

I know I can get some aem and other brands for less but I only want the best. As far as cam gears go I think they are the best ones out there for our cars.

Let me know if anyone knows of a better price.

Thanks

I think you can get them cheaper more like 150 a piece shipped. Try a no namebrand cam gears are pretty generic and they all do the same thing. Unorthodox is always kind of pricey, try ebay and also try to get them used on DSM Trader

the only difference between the brand and no name is they may or may not be adjustable... if so just not by so many degree's as the other.. you only need them to retard the timing to run nos..

Well I heard some bad things about Fidanza cam gears from the neon board. I would stick with AEM or Unorthodox, as they are both laser cut and won't warp or anything. I think someone posted that the Fidanza ones got really messed up.

You don't retard the cam timing to run Nitrous, you retard the IGNITION timing. The cam timing is to help with HP and Torque.

You can get a little bit of power by tuning stock cams with cam gears and if you have aftermarket cams then you should have gears to make the most power with the cams.

As far as the fidanza's go they were talking about having problems with the nuts and bolts on the gears but that could be taken care of with loctite and also replacing the nuts with different ones.

Needed blue ones. I went ahead and got AEM's 260 for both. I will give these a try. The issue w/ the aems is that they have 3 bolts and the unorthodox have 5. I guess I will find out how good they are w/ 20+ psi...

I think that AEM fixed the bold slipping issue that they were having. Anyway, $350.00 is a good price for Unorthodox Racing gears.
