14367, cam gear question

alright ive looking for a post that someone put up that was an discussion over having to take your car to a dyno with cam gears to get the max power or just doing it yourself and matching others patterns on theirs.

can you do that? say somebody has the mods close to mine, and Im guessing ex -2intake, +2exhaust, can i go ahead and adjust mine there also without risk, is it worth it i know im not going to get the max potential, but how much power increase am i looking at?

You can do it but you may not get the most power from your engine even with the same mods.

At least 1 other person dyno'd with intake, headers, and exhaust, and we both got the same results basically. -2 on both, or intake +2, exhaust -2. Gives you a max of 5 wheel hp increase which is a lot better than an intake or exhaust. It helped throughout the power range. You can't hurt your car by adjusting them and trying to do it by feel (or using a Gtech, or go to the track), as long as you don't do too extreme timing adjustments like more than +-4 degrees.
