Mostly everytime I go out of first gear, esp in the morning, my car shudders. It's not due to the engine almost dying out it's sorta like a wheel hop thing - but not. Could it be something to do with my axles or something? THanks

That would probably be your Southland dual friction clutch. My CM Stage 4 is REAL grabby when it's cold.

I think I know what you are talking about and my Clutch Master Stage 3 kinda feels like that on colder mornings here in FL.

Damn man with all the problems you post how much more of that car can you take? Could be the T.O. bearing or the tranny itself.

...car's getting pretty tore up. I need a family car. I'm in the process of selling my wife's 93 del sol and getting a 4dr integ or accord. It's all good tho..modifying comes with a price and plus the more my car breaks down the more I get a chance to learn about my car and how to fix it - yeah! All I'm striving for now is durabililty.

dood I got the same thing! I bet ur tranny makes a grinding noise in the morning too, right? this is the same problem. Mine gets wheel hop in the morning....when the car is first started and I leave my apt entranceway.

Any ideas? I got the same exact prob mang. I think it's all related somehow to TO bearing or tranny.

Mine also shakes in the morning when I take off in first gear, it really feels like wheel hop, but no griding noise here.

mine does that too sometimes in the morning, not all the time, but only sometimes when it is cold, it seems like it only happens when it is cold and i let off the clutch real fast. it feels almost like it grabs then doesent then grabs then doesent etc etc, it's been doing it eversince i bought the car new, i just don't worry about it because it is not chronic, just periodic.

I also have the same problem when I first start out in the morning. It's not really wheel-hop but more like tranny hop. Although it seems like it is dependent on how you release the clutch. If you "burn it" a little it seems to help. I'm glad to know I'm not the only one who has experienced this problem.

Yeah it's cool that these sort of problems can be shared and discussed. Same thing happened some time ago with the rattling coming from the engine on cold mornings, hopefully the two won't be connected.

Hmmmm..could be a recall. One thing I didn't change when my clutch got changed out was my rear main seal - hope that's not leaking tho. I don't get any grinding noise but there is a leak and it's all over the bottom tranny and the driverside axle.

i'm all stock and get the same feeling of wheel hop, but i just assumed it was the cold engine tryin to die on me....i also have good results if i slip it harder (warming up clutch?). so far no rattling connected to it. kinda doubt it's serious if it's so common

just means your clutch is good. start out slower when your motor is cold or let it warm up. mine used to do it too but now my clutch is pretty tore up (rev to 2g's in first to get er movin and even then it's slow) my slave cylinder is leaking so i think that may be part of it.
