So I just got around to opening the box to the crankshaft that I ordered from Autozone. This is a re-manufactured crankshaft. Pulled it out of the box and found one of the notches broken off. This crankshaft is useless correct?

Is that even a question? I'd be returning that thing immediately. It's clearly damaged. Get it replaced.

Why did you buy a reman from autozone in the first place? Building a separate motor or what?

I got a car for $800 that spun a rod bearing that toasted the crank. I used one previously on a car I rebuilt and didn't think it was too bad of a deal. I guess it was. I hope they don't give me any crap about it, I ordered it like two months ago.

This is the reason I try not to buy anything from Autozone/Advance. KOI in my area is decent.

They are regrinds, same for advance auto.

Yup, regrind. Came with oversized main and rod bearings. These cranks are pretty much hit or miss. I ordered one a few years back and it worked out perfect for me. This one however, missing chunk. The one they replaced it with has a cross threaded crank bolt hole. So that's two bad ones in a row, I think I'm done with them.
