13806, how much hp will this give?? Posted by total97eclipse, Feb-04-02 05:24 PM
I am wanting to put a lightened flywheel, stage 3 clutch, bored out throttle body, and hi flow cat on my car. How much hp will that give me and what will it do in general to my car. Also the lightest flywheel I could find is 18lbs. and Im lookin for one like 7lbs. Does anyone know where I could get one??? I already have an AEM inatke and exhaust. Any replies will help.

I found a good one at www.ptuning.com, they have a 7 or 8 lb one. That should get you an extra 25-30 hp at the engine(maybe 35), less at wheels of course.

probably less then that, more like 3-5HP, the main benifit is how quickly the engine responds to revving.

Cam gears are to adjust the intake and exhaust valve timing. This has to be done on a dyno to find the most power.

Quite a few of us have dyno'd our cars with basic mods, and almost all the dynos agree that intake and exhaust both retarded 2 degrees is good. Also, intake advance 2, exhaust retard 2 is good. Those seem to give the max gains, so unless you have a lot of crazy mods, then you should probably just try those out. Of course, to tune them perfectly, you should get it on a dyno.

well in all honesty the next mod you should probably do is an afx underdrive pulley if you are near 60,000 miles. Those are highly recommended by the guys on the board.

and i say 60,000 miles becausr that is when the timing belt needs to be change anyway
