13799, ARP head studs Posted by esi420, Feb-04-02 05:24 PM
I was just reading in the mods section and it said "YOU MUST have the head specailly machined in order to use the ARP head studs! "
Does this still apply??
Thanks guys

Supposedly you had to have spaces machined in to the head for some washers so the head studs would work. Howell automotive posted about 2 months ago saying that they had head studs that worked for the 420A with no modification needed.

KiKu used ARP studs without any modifications(Like Eric R. used) So it can be done without any machining.

Perhaps because no one ever told us otherwise.
The 420A still isn't listed in ARP's application chart. I was interested in these when i did my rebuild, but nothing listed for our application so i just used stock..
If someone can verify with part numbers the studs for our head, i'll update that info.
