13762, 95-96 motors and more

ok can someone tell me the difference between the 95 and 96-99 motors? i am looking at the coximport.com at some venom parts. and the have something for the air boost/airmass for the 96-99 non turbos but not for the 95's. and the numbers for the injectors are different. i thought all the non turbo motors in the 2nd gen cars were the same. just different body styles. and also does anyone have the bored throttle body? did you have to upgrade fuel pump? im thinking about doing a complete fuel system upgrade with fuel pump injectors rail and what ever else i would need.

the 97 models have different fuel rails which would explain different injectors. they went to obd II and changed some stuff. also 96 and up don't ahve the secondary air system.

>>>i thought all the non turbo motors in the 2nd gen cars were the same. just different body styles.

reverse that...95 motors have different fuel set ups from 96. 95 is not obdII, 96 is. 95 fuel pressure regulator is different from 96. 97-99 fuel pressure regulator is in a different location from what i understand. and all 2nd gen non turbo's body styles are the same except front&rear bumpers and little cosmetic crap like that.

just do your homework before u touch the fuel system, its tough to figure out, nothing is cut and dry.

What do you have mod wise? Because untill you get a good way into modifying you don't need to get more fuel, the stock ECU actually adds too much fuel when you mod and you gain power by leanign out teh mixture. If you just have the bbasic bolt ons all you will do is slow yourself down

I'm not worried about fuel upgrade until I have cams and headwork. With the bolt ons and head work I'll take a close look at fuel, and decide on my needs then.

so are you sayin you should get an A/FC or upgrade your ECU before getting too crazy with mods? I think as far as I'm going is, plugs, wires,CAI,exhaust, UDP.

You have a good start planned. Get the 55mm TB. Then start looking at exhaust, the stock muffler is too restrictive. A good cheap upgrade is a muffler off a GS-T. With where I am at I think even that may be starting to add restriction (BTW my next step is Cat-Back exhaust)
