What is your AFR at those times? Usually a smell is either too rich or too lean. Either that or you are burning a fluid that you shouldnt be.

It does kind of smell like rotten eggs and there hasn't been any smoke to indicate burning of fluids

Sulfur from a bad cat usually smells like rotten eggs... Normally you won't see smoke related to a bad cat... Do you have a check engine light associated with the rear o2 sensor?

I still have my stock cat which would make sense and that o2 sensor has been broken for awhile now and I always have a check engine light because of my piggy back system
