136663, PCV Valve question
Posted by bklag25, May-01-12 05:08 PM
I put a small breather on the PCV on the valve cover. I have had all kinds of small issues with the valve cover gasket and oil leaks and a idle issue that seems to persist. after fixing my oil leak (in the cam seals) and replacing my VC Gasket my breather sounds like an intake it is sucking. I have never had this happen until now? is this normal? I also found that the IAC valve is bad. thanks guys in advance.

What do you mean on the PCV?

Did you install the filter on the driver side VC nipple? If it is sucking, that is normal, as the connection on the intake manifold is creating a vacuum in the crankcase.

Google how PCV systems work for further information. Also, post a picture to aid members in understanding what you are referring to. There is no actual PCV on the valve cover. It is connected via a hose, and subsequently to the intake manifold.

If your non turbo there is no reason to not use the stock set up. Just put the hoses back on.
