I was just wanting to know which bolts and what kind of threadlocker I should use if needed for the Cambearing cap bolts, cam sprocket, exhaust manifold bolts, intake manifold bolts, etc... Is there any links to this?

Ive never used loctite on any of those. Cam caps have a torque setting, but its so low my torque wrench is useless at it, so I just snug all of them and then tighten in sequence until they are tight and not anymore than that to avoid stripping them out.

Camshaft gear bolts are 70 ft lbs if I remember correctly.

Intake/Exhaust I just tighten and never worry about them again.

The only things I use loctite on, are the 3 bolts holding my aluminum underdrive pulley on the steel insert, the 4 bolts that hold the flexplate to the clutch, and the 8 bolts on the end of the crank that hold the flexplate on.

This is the most asinine way I have ever heard. Buy a damn torque wrench that reads in inch-pounds.

Tightening something by feel that is as critical as the fasteners to secure your camshafts? :nono

Hmm. 15,000 miles, no loose bolts, no stripped threads on this head, and $20,000 in medical debt. Ill do it my way.

Let me rephrase. I did not imply that you should prioritize tool purchases over medical bills. However, beg/borrow/steal the appropriate tool. Although you could likely tighten them to roughly the appropriate amount, the key is repeatability across the board.

Say you had a torque wrench that could not range the right value for head studs or main studs. Would you just tighten it by hand and wing it? Cam fasteners are arguably as important to preventing catastrophic damage.

i always torqued everything w/ my ft/lbs torque wrench, everything else by feel, even my cam cap bolts. Nothing loose, 35K+ miles (knock on wood) ;)
