136270, Need to add a nipple to Intake pipe Posted by bagged420a, Mar-19-12 08:29 AM
So what would be the most efficient way to add a nipple to the intake(to run a CC setup)? I'm thinking between welding a small pipe on, so that its smooth on the inside of the intake. Or just getting a npt-hose barb fitting and tapping the intake, causing part of it to be in the intake. I'm not sure if having an object sitting in the intake would mess up airflow any(or enough to cause any negatives). And a friend of mine just mentioned to run a slash cut into the intake. Thoughts?

Either one would be fine. If you can weld or know someone that would do it for you that would obviously be the best option. But threading a nipple in would also work fine and wouldnt disrupt the airflow enough to notice.

Also, you can look into a vacuum box..

Perhaps add a T fitting to one of the other vacuum lines?

I would prefer a line that won't see boost and will be under a vacuum at heavy throttle, that way I can utualize the dual catch can setup. Don't have any preturbo vac lines(that I can think of) so, not really an option. But thanks for the suggestion.
