136171, Info on jeep throttle body and rear motor/trans mount Posted by Red90Sev, Mar-09-12 06:59 AM
So I finally got around to installing my 3.55 trans with quaife and when I was bolting on the rear mount one of the bolts never tightened, so it's stripped. There are two other bolts holding it to the trans, is that enough? I only plan to have it in the car for a year before I do my 2.4 swap. Think I'm okay? Here's a pic of the stripped bolt. Think I'm going to helicoil, anyone know what bolt/thread size it is?
![]() I was also going to ask, I have a jeep throttle body and Crower 2's, I wanted to use Modern's manual IAC adjuster. Anyone know if the tip unscrews to allow the jeeps IAC tip to be installed? Or is there another option? Thanks.

Why do you want to use the manual controller with crowed 2 s? I am running crane 12s with the jeep throttle body and have not had any problems with vacuum or a high idel. I could only see using it if you are going to run megasquirt and as a stand alone or really big cams like the crower 3s or crane 16s. If you still have the stock ecu you would be fine to use the iac switch. As for you tranny bolt you should be fine as long as you do not beat on the car. If you look in some of the threads about stripped cam tower bolts code4 post a product that was like a heli coil but better and a lot stronger. You could pm him to get the information or look around and find it.

You'll be fine with the tranny

It should be fine but to be safe I wouldn't take it to the track or abuse it in anyway. Just think I held my clutch in for a while with just three bolts. Haha

Should be fine since its a middle bolt. If it was one of the side bolts, then I would be concerned.
