I drive a 98 Eclipse RS.
I got an over-bored throttle body from machV motorsports, and an AEM short air intake. I have the strangest idle problem. Every time I stop or push the clutch in or turn the wheel while rolling (clutch pressed in) the engine always ramps up to about 2000 rpm. I replaced both sensors that connect to the throttle body. Could anyone tell me what to check for or what to do? I'm completely helpless and need to find an answer. Help!!! :'(

Check the installation of the TPS and IAC maybe you pinched one of the o-rings. And check that the throttle plate closes (should be close but not exactly sit verticle when closed a few degrees off)

yea, i've heard that every once and a while the throttle plate is messed up on those overbored tb's and they don't close all the way.

this is true for the af/x ones, so i guess it would be true for any others.

if that's the case, try calling them up and getting a new one.. or try to figure out how to fix it. =)

make sure you check the wire connecting to the throttle body.. there should be a little slack in it.. otherwise, when you are idle, the plate may be opened a little bit when it should be fully closed.. it happens alot when messing with the cable or the tb. but also, make sure that there is not too much slack, otherwise you will not be able to run at WOT

it is most likely your TB plate letting air around itself. i had the EXACT same problem, sent it back and got a new plate that sealed, no more RPM jump. it could be your o-rings around the TPS but i'll bet its the plate. hold it up to light and see if you can see light around the edgs of the plate,(a little around the pivot bar is okay) if so theres your problem!
