135397, updated the 1/2 radiator mod

Just to a note to let you guys know I re-did the wiki write up. Had a few requests on pics (because putfile went out of business so I had no pics).

So for those who are interested, I re-wrote it with more info and clarity.

Also, if anybody can source out an application from a part number, it would be nice to have the apps in there instead of just part numbers. The part numbers will disappear/change, but the apps will remain the same (hmm, kinda lyrical)

I can't tell how good this works out. I have run this set-up on my daily for thousands of miles; winter, spring, summer, fall (btw that is my curent daily I used for the write up). I have run this set-up on the 570whp 420a turbo car with ZERO cooling problems. I have run this set-up on a turbo 4G63 with no problems. I have Honda buddies (one currently at a pump gas 450whp tune on his daily) that run these all the time with no problems.

The extra space that it gives you is well, phenomenal. For NA I get cold air pushed right up to the Ram air intake and for turbo, I move it to the other side and it allows me room for a big ole turbo and mani.

In a addition, there is actually a weight savings involved. You might lose another 6-8lbs in coolant from your car, lol.

I recommend

Well from what I could find the part number for the upper hose is for the upper radiator hose for a 95-99 Dodge Neon with the SOHC 2.0L according to Napa's website.

Hmm, well that would make sense. Because I pulled that one out of my "hose drawer", so I got it off something. I have broken down and parted out a couple of SOHC Neons, so I presume that's where I got that hose.

Cool, I feel confident enough to add that in. Thanks.

Hey Bullett I notice you welded the filler on the Radiator shut, what happens if you don't do this?

It leaks, lol.

Basically here's what you are looking at; the filler neck of the Honda radiator has a tube (like ours) set-up for releasing pressure. And the radiator cap I believe is a 1.1 bar. So what happens is as the system builds up pressure that tube releases the antifreeze as the cap comes to the 1.1 pressure. I did one trying to just block off the tube and it kinda worked (using a 1.3 bar cap) and kinda didn't. It did end up leaking, but not a whole lot. I tried changing the cap etc. but it just didn't want to work. I solved it by cuting off the filler and welding it ;-)
