I have read in a few threads that talk the use of srt-4 pistons in the 420a will fit but will not work on the stock rod for the 420a. If I understand correctly it is because our wrist pins are pressed in v.s the srt-4 are full floating. So my question is if you were to use the eagle h-beams that use a full floating wrist pin and turn the srt-4 piston 180 degrees would it work? I ask this question because I have a new set of eagle h-beams and was looking for pistons. Any direct answers to my question are very much appreciated thank you.

No. The SRT4 pistons is a press fit pin as well. Additionally, why would you attempt the use of a piston not designed for the motor? The stroke, rod length, and piston pin height are all different on the 2.4 EDV motor, not to mention the static CR is 8:1.

You can use SRT4 pistons in an EDZ, not a 420A.

The wrist pin diameters are different, too, 2.4L vs 2.0L.

Lets see specs. Maybe the 420a rods can be bushed to fit the srt4 piston. If the compression height is too tall then the piston could always be fly cut. If it is too short then just have the head shaved or run a thin head gasket. That's the kind of shit people have been doing for years on v8s and it is starting to give rise in the D-series Honda community. Show me specs and I can find out if it is possible.

Why would you possibly want to go to all that trouble just to run a stock cast piston? You can only buy the pistons with the rods already attached, and the rods are 100% not usable in a 2 liter. By the time you buy the piston and rod set, you're not very much shy of the price of a nice forged piston set that can be used with no trouble and is tried and proven. Just my 2 cents.

Well I didn't know you couldn't buy the pistons without the rods. What a waste. And because that srt-4 piston will hold around 400-500hp

Since you seem to have the pulse of the Honda community, you should be smart enough to look up your own damn specs instead of demanding that we waste our time doing it.

The answer is very simple. Of course so is demanding that someone else does the work.
