I'm wanting to relocate or just get a different type of box for the cruise control. Can I simply replace the vacuum box with any type of vacuum box? Or is there something unique to a cruise control vac box? What would happen if I just took the box out and connected the lines together skipping the box all together. Has anyone done something different with the box? I just want to clear out things under the intake manifold. Any ideas? Thanks.

Its simple enough. I helped a friend with one not too long ago, though he had to find a place to build it. He went with a custom design on it though, just so he could have it where HE wanted it.

Its basically 2 valves, and an actuator. One allows air in, the other, takes the vacuum pressure and allows it to "Actuate" the Diaphagram spring, in turn opening the 2nd valve, then returning thus in throttle control "I.E. Throttle Body or Carb".

BUT, whomever you have make one, they will mostly cover all of this, its a relatively simple system, just like any other, takes some time.

Another option I looked deep into, and still am, it using one from one of the Cloud Cars. I think I have finally found a candidate out of a Breeze, its mounted up near the Master Cylinder on the Breeze, & seem to be in a position where I can work one in my 2G's engine bay.

But between the Many 2.0 & 2.4 Chrysler Engines in these Cloud cars, there has got to be one out there with a better design, so check that out too, and let me know if you come up with anything. I haven't looked at the Stratus, nor 2001+ Neon, but there is still the option of, P.T cruiser, 2001+ Sebering, Etc....

You can get rid of the vacuum reservoir. I threw mine away years ago and got rid of the lines and routed the cruise vacuum line straight to the intake manifold. Cruise control still works and has always with zero problems.

So why is it even there to begin with? Is it some sort of check valve system or something? I am turbo, will that affect anything? Thanks for the replies.

Couldn't really tell you exactly. I just tossed mine the first time I did my head gasket. I'm turbo and see no negative results with the cruise control.
