134251, Custom Billet 8an Fuel Rail
Posted by Black Cotton, May-30-11 05:30 PM
As part of my cars long build sheet, and power aspirations I have gone ahead and designed and fabricated my own 8an fuel rail.

Details:

I designed this rail to work in conjunction with the O.E. Intake Plenum, It utilizes the factory provisions for both hold down and Injector O ring Style. In other words, it's a direct bolt in piece.

Bore Diameter: 12.7mm - I purchased a special drill bit to complete the boring process in one function not two like most machine shops which results in a clean straight no "step" or offset bore.

Material Type: T6061-T6 Aluminum Billet rectangle stock, edges have been radii for a clean appearance, however pictures do not depict how final appearance may look.

Fitting Type: AN to Metric thread: M16*1.5 O ring type

If you are interested in obtaining a unit for yourself please contact me personally via PM. Please leave the thread for technical questions, comments and criticisms only.

Are you doing this for "bling" factor? I understand if that's the case, but simply altering the stock rail with fittings should give you the same effect. Once you open up the end of the rail on a stocker, you have plenty of "chamber" inside for fuel.

Def not for a "bling" factor. If that were the case I would have chosen and designed a better looking bar stock. I did this for a few reasons; (1) I have purchased 2 fuel rails from undisclosed sources to which utilized NTP ends, that no matter what or who tightened the fittings and weather or not I used aluminum, or steel, natural or finished fittings would always end up leaking on me. (2) Provides me with a free(er) flowing system from pump to rail, being all 1/2" ID stuff.
