134050, Help Reading Compression Test Results
Posted by 99ozdsm, May-03-11 05:47 PM
As the title reads. I did both dry and wet tests and got these numbers starting from cylinder 1, near the timing belt to cylinder 4 towards the battery. Also, take note that these numbers are from a fairly warm engine, about 15 20 mins shut off so the results are not from operating temperatures.

Dry
C1-150
C2-165
C3-195
C4-180

Wet
C1-180
C2-210
C3-230
C4-205

Correct me if I'm wrong but the increased wet test results mean I have a worn or damaged ring or cylinder wall? Any and all advice is greatly appreciated.

That is fine, warm test is good.

And you are correct, you likely have some compression leakage from worn rings.

agreed. either that or your cylinders have become slightly egg-shaped, depending on how much power the engine has seen
