This is a really dumb question BUT.
I'm looking at buying a bolt on fart can, even though I got a arospeed *dual* dtm style muffler on my car now, when they welded it on they actually made the piping smaller because my inlet was in the middle and they had to custom make it fit yada yada yada, now I have the opportunity to get a rear section that bolts up. I have heard from some people that buy the rear section of the GST and tried to bolt it that we have to drop a piece of the lower rear suspension to get the muffler to actually fit in there, is that true or is that only on the GS's and not the RS?? and where exactly does a REAR SECTION bolt on muffler connect to? never been down there long enough to see. Anyhow, the main reason that I am concerned is that I just got my camber done, and if I drop a part of my suspension I know it will knock my alignment BACK OUT of spec... (sniff) " I DON'T WANNA TAKE IT BACK TO TIRE KINGDOM, THEY ALWAYS CRACK MY FRONT!! WAAH! AND MY CAMBER IS FINALLY FIXED! WAAAAAAAH" Ok i'm done, so inform me as usual, all u 420a gurus....

you don;t have to remove anything...it will bolt right up. the flange is three bolt/nuts before the rear cross member and suspension shit...easy as pie.

The only hard part is actually getting those rusted bolts off.

I just installed a GST rear section on my car not 30 minutes ago.

1-Raise the rear driver's side
2-Remove rear wheel
3-Spray all bolts with Liquid Wrench
4-After a couple minutes, bolts slip right off, remove the 3 on the exhaust flange to the left of the rear brakes first
5-Get behind the car and remove the bolt to the right of the tailpipe
6-Back to the wheel well, remove 2 more bolts on hangers (right of the rear brakes)

Now everything's loose, drop the muffler to the ground, and pull it all the way to the back of the car. The flange will hit some crossmember, now slide the muffler towards you (side of the car) with the tailpipe still pointing backward. Then twist all of it 90 degrees clockwise and jimmy it outta there. It's TOTALLY not hard to get out at all, took me 30 minutes from removing the back wheel to installing the back wheel.

GST muff sounds awesome BTW, haven't tested to see if there's any kind of gain really but I will. Oh and I got it $25 from RRE, a little dirty and a bolt stuck in one of the flange nuts but big deal.

Cool, so you picked up the GST muffler from RRE already...that's such a good deal. I payed 35 for just a GST muffler without the piping up to the flange, so I had to pay an extra 20 to get it welded on at a shop.

I just bolted in my 'new' GST muffla yesterday. It cost $50 shipped which wasn't too bad. The thing is it was rusted as hell! It took quite a bit of effort to break the rusted bolts away (He sent the muffler with the bolts on it.)
Well, turns out it doesn't exactly sound $50 better... I can barely tell the difference when driving normally and it becomes more noticable once over 3k rpm.
I also noticed a loss of torque in the 1000-2000 rpm range, but it picks up nicely over 3000 rpm. I'm gonna take it off tomorrow to paint it black and polish the tips...
