133761, Anyone broken a clutch fork?

I was driving the car to class today when suddenly the clutch wouldn't come off the floor. Pulled over to the side of the road and opened the hood to find this.

Guess the pressure plate was too much for it. Has anyone tried to weld one back together?

Heavy pressure plates will do that. I know clutch masters twin discs will snap stock forks.

How did you break so many. This one lasted a year with a 2400lb clutch. Planning on welding it back and filling up that U shape completely with weld.

Not sure, I guess they just don't like me. My clutch is a 2700lb non sprung 6 puck.

Where did you guys break the fork at? As you can see from the pic mine broke on the smaller part but it looks as if 1slw broke it more towards the pivot ball.

Code4 that fork looks nice. I only reinforced mine up to the pivot ball. Are the fork known for breaking after it as well.

These are the spots where mine broke. I always figured the ears that touch the TOB would be a weak spot but i guess not.

1slw - From your pic it doesn't look like you reinforced the fork at all on the smaller part toward the slave. Just aroudn the pivot ball area.

Yeah it's reinforced, The pic is just crap. There is just enough room on the tip of it for the slave rod.

Well I wasn't able to put the car back together this week. I lost the f*ckin plastic cap for the pivot ball. Got one overnighted from the dealer. Car should be finished today.

Hope it holds up because its going on the track tmrw.
