133291, a few 2.4 swap Qestions Posted by streetlightning, Mar-03-11 11:22 AM
Starting to finalize the 2.4 swap. And I have a few ?s
Block EDZ with 420a Head: Which head gasket to use? I cant seem to find it, but im sure im just over looking it, I recall it being the OEM 420a MLS, is that correct?
Im running crower stg 3’s with OS valves, and I have an OEM srt 4 mech Tensioer. Is this OK to use, as ive read with larger cams, water pumps like to explode. So im wondering A: this good to use, and if its not, what are my options?
Since im Using srt timing/water and oil components, use SRT timing belt? Im also using Ms2, v3 board, p/h bard and cam sync (I have sequential going on),
So knowing that, do I need to re-wire my injectors/sequence and still rotate the cam magnet? On that note anyone have a decent base map for a 2.4: Specs: 2.4l (edz block with forged internals) ~9:1 cr 1000cc @ 43 PSI, map daddy( so its 4 bar I believe), Running sequential (cam sync) PnP head with OS intake valves and stage 3 crower cams..

Yes.

I've never heard that, nor experienced it.

I run an SRT4 water pump, FWIW, and yes, you use the SRT4 timing belt.

I would, uless you can change which cylinder you're indexing on with the cam magnet in the config. I'm not familiar with MS2 in general.

Good luck with that.

lol thx for the response.
As for the tensior, im reading that ppl are upgrading to a 10 mm grade 10 bolt, but its a little unclear what they are doing.. most are doing it bc they are running crane 18s or larger. my crower stg 3 is comparable to the crane 18, thus my question. just wondered if anyone on here thats done the swap has done the 10mm upgrade
as for the ms stuff, it was a shot in the dark lol

They're replacing the bolt that cams the tensioner to tighten it with a higher-grade bolt. I never bothered.

I run all SRT4 spec equipment on the front cover area of the motor. Crower 3s and no problems since the install 10k miles ago.
