so no spark, I dont smell fuel so no fuel, no compression but the pistons are moving. any ideas or what info would you need?

1) How do you know there is no spark?

2) So because you cant smell it means it isnt there?

3) No compression but the pistons are moving? Did you check it with a gauge?

spins very freely. and its normaly like chu chu chu or whatever but its just a steady spin like electric motors. and took valve cover off, and rockers were sitting there on intake side. cams not spinning, cam gears not spinning. that explains no spark or fuel. since cam position sensor has no reading right?

It means your timing belt is gone. Time for you to spend money.

This would have been useful info in the beginning. Check your timing belt.

Events prior?

Is your timing belt present? If you really have no compression then you are looking at a teardown and rebuild. Nothing short of that.

yea the timing belt is there. Im not getting why thi piston is moving with no comprssion. is it because no air is getting in? and would be compressing nothing?

You need to put the #1 piston at top dead center and see if the cam gear marks line up.

well cams arent moving so i cant really check the timing. its gotta be off.

You said the timing belt is there. Is it even tight?

Most likely: You popped a timing belt, killed some valves, and thats why you have no compression.

Can it be a broken or missing woodruff? I bought off a someone else with it not starting. but its got me stumped now. but after checking all pistons move when cranking, intake rockers are sitting in the head, timing belt stays stationary but serpentine belt spins? things are contradicting if you ask me.

Have you even disassembled the timing side so you can see?

Meaning side MM and all.

no but i can see the gears. but wanted to see if it was something basic before taking everything apart. if the head was decked could that cause anything?

No, you were over basic the minute you said that the crank turns and valvetrain does not.

We already know the results. The timing belt is broken, and you have 8 bent intake valves.

Trust us, the motor needs a complete teardown at this point to assess the damage.
